No. Pro-Fibre for rabbits contains a probiotic specifically for herbivores and is not licensed for dogs or cats.  

Pro‑Fibre for Rabbits is safe for long‑term use and can be given daily to help maintain digestive health. We recommend speaking with your veterinary surgeon to determine the most appropriate duration of use for your rabbit’s individual needs. 

Yes. Under the guidance of your veterinary surgeon the daily amount of Pro-Fibre administered to your rabbitcan be adjusted as required (increased or decreased). 

Pro‑Fibre for Rabbits is a palatable pellet that can be mixed with your rabbit’s regular food or offered in a separate container. We recommend offering the pellets whole, but if your rabbit prefers them crushed, they can be gently broken up although this may reduce the product’s overall effectiveness.

Pro-Fibre for rabbits should never be added to hot food or mixed in before cooking as this will kill the probiotic. We recommend letting the food cool to lukewarm before mixing in Pro-Fibre.

Pro-Fibre for rabbits contains yeast, soya and wheat so it may not be suitable for rabbits with known allergies to these ingredients.

Pro-Fibre for rabbits can be safely used alongside other products in the Protexin Veterinary range for rabbits. If your rabbit is receiving medication, it’s best to give Pro-Fibre a few hours later to avoid any potential reduction in absorption.  If your rabbit is currently taking antibiotics, offer Pro‑Fibre a few hours after the antibiotic dose for best results.

We recommend seeking veterinary advice before giving Pro‑Fibre for Rabbits to pregnant or lactating rabbits. Your vet can advise on the most appropriate diet and use of supplements to ensure their energy requirements are being met during this important stage.

Pro-Fibre for rabbits will remain effective until the Best Before End (BBE) date printed on the pot, provided it is stored in a cool, dry place.  

No. We do not advise using any product that has passed the expiry date on the package.

Accidental exposure to sunlight or high temperatures will not make Pro-Fibre harmful to your rabbit. However, the ingredients may become less effective if the product has been exposed to heat for an extended period.
