A tasty artificial chicken‑flavoured capsule formulated to support urinary tract health. Combining N‑acetyl D‑glucosamine, cranberry extract, and probiotic and prebiotic ingredients, it helps maintain a healthy bladder lining, discourage bacterial attachment, and promote overall wellbeing.
Cranberry extract (providing proanthocyanidins, PACs)
Proanthocyanidins (PACs) are naturally occurring antioxidants extracted from cranberries that make it harder for certain bacteria to attach to the bladder lining.
N‑acetyl D‑glucosamine
Normal, healthy bladders are lined with glycosaminoglycan (GAG), which protects them from direct exposure to urine, prevents discomfort and helps stop bacteria from entering the urinary tract. N‑acetyl D‑glucosamine provides essential building blocks for these GAGs, supporting the maintenance of this protective layer.
Probiotic
CystoPro contains the live bacteria Enterococcus faecium (DSM 10663/NCIMB 10415) 4b1707 to help maintain a balanced and healthy gut environment.
Prebiotic
Mannan‑oligosaccharide (MOS) helps feed beneficial gut bacteria, maintaining a healthy microbiome and helping to support the immune system.
Artificial chicken flavouring
Enhances palatability, making it easier to give to your cat.
CystoPro capsules can be given whole or opened and sprinkled onto food. Alternatively, they can be hidden in a small, tasty treat if needed. We recommend giving the capsules once daily as a single dose.
CystoPro is suitable for long-term use or as advised by your vet. For best results, give daily and ensure your pet always has access to fresh drinking water.

CystoPro can be used in dogs and cats from 12 weeks of age. While cranberry extracts are considered very safe, there are no specific safety studies in puppies or kittens. We therefore recommend speaking to your veterinary surgeon before giving CystoPro to animals younger than 12 weeks old.
For small cats under 3 kg, you can give half a capsule mixed with food. Capsules can be difficult to split accurately, so don’t worry if it isn’t exact, giving a whole capsule to a small cat is still considered safe.
Yes. CystoPro is safe to use in cats.
There’s usually no need to use both products at the same time. If you’re unsure which option is best for your cat, we recommend speaking with your veterinary surgeon or contacting the Protexin Veterinary Technical Team for advice.
Yes. CystoPro is safe for long-term use.
If your pet eats dry food, you can lightly dampen a small portion of the kibble with water so the CystoPro powder sticks when mixed in. Alternatively, you can mix the capsule contents with a small amount of wet food or a tasty treat to make sure they get the full dose.
Yes, CystoPro can be mixed with a small amount of water. Please note that it will not dissolve but will form a soft paste. This paste can be mixed into your pet’s food or given directly into their mouth. However, it’s usually easiest to give the capsule whole or opened and sprinkled onto food.
CystoPro should never be added to hot food or mixed in before cooking as this will destroy the probiotic (beneficial bacteria). We recommend letting the food cool to lukewarm before mixing in CystoPro.
CystoPro does not contain chicken, soya, wheat or dairy. The flavouring is fully artificial and contains no meat proteins, making it suitable for pets with common food allergies.
CystoPro does contain a mannan-oligosaccharide (MOS), a purified molecule derived from the yeast cell wall. While this should not trigger the same allergic response as whole yeast, we recommend using caution in animals with known yeast allergies.
CystoPro can be safely used alongside other products in the Protexin Veterinary range, as well as with most medications.
CystoPro can be given with antibiotics, however it’s best to give CystoPro a few hours later to avoid any potential reduction in efficacy.
We recommend speaking to your veterinary surgeon before giving CystoPro to pregnant or lactating animals. While cranberry extracts are considered safe in pregnant humans, their use has not been studied in pregnant or lactating dogs and cats, so caution is advised.
CystoPro contains a cranberry extract, and cranberries are sometimes associated with lowering (acidifying) urinary pH. As acidic urine can increase the risk of calcium oxalate stone formation, we recommend using CystoPro under the guidance of your veterinary surgeon if your pet has a history of urinary crystals or stones.
If your pet has been diagnosed with bladder stones, we recommend speaking to your veterinary surgeon before using CystoPro.
CystoPro contains a cranberry extract, which may acidify urine in some animals. Since urine acidity can influence the type of stones that form, your vet will be best placed to advise whether CystoPro is suitable for your pet’s specific condition and diet.
Store CystoPro in a cool, dry place at room temperature, out of direct sunlight.
CystoPro will remain effective until the Best Before End (BBE) date printed on the packaging, provided it is stored in a cool, dry place.
No. We do not advise using any product that has passed the expiry date on the package.
Accidental exposure to sunlight or high temperatures will not make CystoPro harmful to your cat or dog. However, the ingredients may become less effective if the product has been exposed to heat for an extended period.
