Rabbits

Rabbits’ gastrointestinal systems have evolved to enable maximum extraction of energy from the plant material which they consume.

Since mammals are unable to digest most plant fibre, they instead rely on bacteria present in the gut to ferment it, producing short chain fatty acids which the rabbit can then use for energy.

Rabbits are therefore highly reliant on their gut bacteria to maintain normal health and digestion and are particularly sensitive to any dysbiosis (imbalance between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ gut bacteria) which may occur. Their gut movement also relies on a high fibre content being present in the diet.

Our unique combinations of probiotics, prebiotics and fibre help to maintain normal digestive function and contribute to healthier, happier rabbits.
